Thanks a lot for all the help!  I finally got it all put together (excellent instruction set, by the way) and now my Mark is back to its former glory!
It took me more time to find my soldering iron than to swap out the inverter!  I followed the recommendations, and the neon interference only effects the weakest AM radio stations (So I can still catch the BBC)!
