"The Mark 11.751 @ 120.80"

The Mark had a decent new motor debut winning the Class D Injected Engineering Sponsored Runner-Up Trophy, and joining the 11 second club with a 11.751 @ 120.80 run during SSHS8!

Here is a video of The Mark's introduction into the 11 second club. Enjoy!

WOW.
Imagine if it would have hooked up.
It sounded like it laid over in high gear too...right after the shift.

some tuning, traction, and a BETTER VIDEO camera, and I think we'd easily see 11.50's out of that car!!!

Nice work Mike.

sure, it's an expensive time slip...but with functioning A/C, power seats, windows, steering, and a stereo...you definitely have one helluva nice ride.

Now go find a decent cam-corder and filmographer, and we MIGHT enjoy the fruits of your labor(and checkbook) a little more.

what a ride, bro.

Thanks, Craig There is a lot more in the car than what you see. That was the torque converter locking up - not overdrive - before the traps. Aric was data logging and trans tuning on that run.

I do not care for the Marauder steel wheels and inner tube M/T ET Streets that were on the car. I lost a 10th in the 60' times to the stock Mark wheels and DR's with the old motor from last year.

No doubt the car will do better than 11.5

Well, you got there, you raced, and you took home the hardware.
Mission accomplished.

if you had another T&T session, I'm sure you will easily become NHRA ILLEGAL!(roll bar!)

job well done pal.

what a story....and the car still looks amazing at the end of the ordeal.

Very impressive!! How much boost are you running on the top end now with the new motor?

Thanks, Thomas. On the dyno, it reached 17psi at 7500 rpm. I do not have a boost gauge in the car, and the shifts are rounded down to 7k on the 1-2, and 6900 on the 2-3, so I would have to guess 15-16psi when going down the track.

Still working to tune the torque converter - lock-up or not. As you can hear on the video, it is locking up just before crossing the line. Aric wants to take it down the track a few more times, and then decide what to do with the tc.

I've been following your build since you first started and its awesome to see the fruits of all the hard work, time, and of course $$ spent come together to make one unique, AWESOME, FAST Mark. Congratulations on making basically everyone on the forum jealous and having a bad-A mark.

Thanks for the kind words The Mark is almost done now. Just need to put the new T-trim on, do something different with the rear slicks, and do some more tuning and call it a day.

Will Smith with Super Rod Magazine was at the event, and he said he is going to give me a call and set up a time to do the final feature story on the car sometime soon that will show the entire car completed.

The car is a hoot to drive now - even with the S-trim. It will just bury you in the seat when you mat the go peddle

Yeah, but then you have to crawl under the car and hook up the intercooler pipe.

Congrats, Mike, I know it's been a hell of a ride getting your car to this point. God knows you're a more patient man than me!

lol Calvin Thanks. I think, not having the lower bumper valance on at the track did not help from keeping the tube from popping off. Just made it easier to put it back on That will be fixed for sure. That stupid thing popped off during every run after the 11.7 run. It will get there... Maybe by SSHS9 lol
