"Casino Royale"

Since I have seen most of James bond movies made. I had to go see the new Casino Royale. The new bond “Daniel Craig” isn’t as good of Bond as the last actor “IMO” but is still a good choice. Pierce Brosnan is getting quite old for the role so this change isn’t too surprising.

Out of the new bonds; I certainly prefer Goldeneye to this one. But it is better than Tomorrow Never Dies and probably The World Is Not Enough.

Also this Bond film introduces several new concepts to James Bond that I am not going to give away since I don’t want to spoil the movie for others.

Also the Aston Martin serves a very very short role in the movie and there is no “set” car chase scene with cool cars.

Overall I give this movie a C+++ and it is a worth while movie for any James Bond fan.

'Casino Royale' Biggest Global Bond Ever; #1 Overseas With $200+ Mil Worldwide...

007 is so far doing Da Vinci Code-like biz in all 50 countries where it's opened No. 1 (except the U.S. where it opened No. 2). There were 18 new international debuts for Casino Royale (in Paris theater, at left) this week - all #1, including France, Germany, Spain and Scandinavia. So far, that's an overseas total of $66.2 mil from this weekend's haul. Last week, the spy pic was #1 in all 27 countries where it opened, earning $42.2 mil from the UK, Russia, India and small territories in the Mideast and Asia. (Last week, it scored the #9 all-time UK opening, and the biggest Bond opening ever in the UK by 46%.) Right before the debut weekend, Sony Pictures was lowering expectations for Casino Royale in the U.S. and counting more on foreign sales. The studio was right: the pic now looks like the biggest Bond ever worldwide, moving up from $82.8 mil last weekend to easily passing $224.5 mil this weekend (including the $128.3 mil foreign and $94.2 mil U.S. cume) with many major foreign territories still to go, including Japan, Korea, Italy and Australia. Box office gurus say Daniel Craig will easily blow past the biggest grosser in the Pierce Brosnan series, 2002's Die Another Day, and its $432 mil global take. 007 is still #1 its second week out in almost all the nations where it opened, though Happy Feet is about to make major inroads. I hear that in Singapore, where Warner's pengiun pic opened this weekend, holdover Bond moved down to #2. The spy vs spy news coming out of Britain and Russia and dominating global headlines will help Casino Royale's foreign biz. For the latest b.o. news, see my 'Happy Feet' No. 1, 'Casino Royale' No. 2; It's 'Deja Vu' (#3) In U.S.

I'm guessing this is where he rolls it in the previews?

LOL I finally saw it.
IMHO this is one of the best Bond movies ever. I believe the martial arts sequences are the best of the Bond series. The plots rose above the attention span of a twelve year boy for the first time since Sean Connery (save the Timothy Dalton Bond movies) and in general, it raised the level of interest and suspense up to the level of a classic movie. The action sequences relied less on expensive special effects and more on very good stunt and choreography work. The movie was not over reliant on action and in general, felt more like the early Bond movies where the plot and the strength of the characters carried the movie. I give it an A+.

Saw the new Bond in an Aussie film about a hit guy who wants to quit but needs one more big job for $$$. He is cool.
He kinda reminds me of Lassenbee; hope he lasts longer!
