"Any Trekkies here?"

If you are one - what was your favorite new generation episode?

Mine: when Captain Picard got hit by the probe and went into a "coma-like state" where he "dreamed" lived almost a complete life on a planet that went nova a long time ago in that area.

He had a wife and children, always studied the stars, and learned how to play a flute-like instrument. When he woke up, he was disorientated and seemed to have a "hole in his soul" for his family. Liked how he got the flute instrument as a gift from that no longer existing civilization.

OK, I have gone on long enough...

I'd have to agree... I think that is the only episode that I have watched four times... No, I don't have it recorded. I do like ST though. I'm thinking about getting cable just so I can get to see the new series that is starting next week... Oh God, I'm a Trekkie... But only in private.

I agree that was a good episode..but my favorite episode was the last one.titled "All good things" when Picard distroyed all of humanity and had to fix it in three different time lines.
I hope Enterprise is good
P.S. Q was a blast

I am not a trekkie, but I watch the shows.

Favorite Next Generation. The one where Picard, Crusher, Riker and Data get stuck on the planet with the defense system that killed off all the inhabitants. What I like is when Jordy is put in command of the Enterprise in his first real experience cammanding a starship in battle. It is Jordy's "coming of age" so to speak. We see his insecurity in his new responsibility and his ability to rise to the challenge. The decision to separate the saucer from the star drive section was a bold move for his first command, yet he had the guts to do it and make it work.

As far as eye candy, the original has it. Next generation does not. Deanna Troy - no. Her mother - no. The original doctor - no. Beverly Crusher - no. (I always wanted them to kill her character off, but they never did. So annoying.) Tasha Yar - Maybe. Ensign Ro - no. On Voyager, Janeway - no. Bellana - maybe. Kess - yes. Seven - absolutely, in a heartbeat, no regrets. And in one of the past/present/future episodes, they showed little Naomi Wildman all grown up as an adult, maybe mid-twenties age - there ya go, that's the ticket, that's the type of eye candy I want to see.

New series tonight. I'm going to watch it. It's supposed to reinstate the eye candy factor back into Star Trek in a serious way. Excellent.

Dave.
