So, after careful daylight inspection, Ive noticed some minor scratches on my red Mark VIII.. Only one very small one that reveals primer. When looking for touch up and using the GF color code on my door panel, I notice that Fords now calls it red metallic something with the same code.. Is this thee exact same color?? any idea's?? And, after seeing with my own eyes Macos paint service.. STEER CLEAR! lol Within months there will be chipping and peeling... Mine is 20 yrs old factory paint that i still get compliments on,, but Im losing sleep at night about these pesky scratches..

I've seen a similar situation when I needed some touch up/repair on my '93, which is listed as being finished in Garnet Red. The body shop done some great repair work for me, but the paint they used was called Electric Currant Red Metallic. It was tagged from the paint supplier as having been a 1992 Ford color, also. It turned out to a perfect match, however, as the repaired areas blended in so well, even now, nearly seven years later,it all looks literally like the factory paint. The excellent color match, as well as the longevity of the paintwork itself, is a good indication that my auto painter guys done an excellent job for me. That's why I've been going back to the same shop for nearly twenty years now. Lead Foot Crazy 'Bout My Ol' Mark 8s

Well done leadfoot! I was curious.. didnt want to be even a shade off! I love the color soo much and hesitate on doing a full paint job cuz I didnt want to lose the metallic.. Still looks great so only touching up.. why fix something that isnt broke..
