"Rebuilding Rear Calipers help on the Seals and Dust Boot"
OK this may have been addressed before or not, but here is my problem.
I am rebuilding the rear calipers on our 96 Mark VIII. I am not interested in rebuilt calipers as the ones I have have been ceramic coated (I work for a company that makes the coating) to make them perform and look better. (I have done the fronts already and they are still looking good after 2 years) I have gone through 2 sets of the seal kits and I cannot make them work.
The seal and the dust boot are designed to fit into the same groove with the dust boot fitting over the lip and sealing on the piston at the top and where it makes contact with the seal.
Is there a trick to using these things or is Raybestos and other companies just taking our money and hoping we buy rebuilt calipers?

Not sure on your queston about the seal cause I've never tried to rebuild this new of a caliper (I mostly do hot rod, muscle car and Vette stuff), but I'm guessing there might be a special tool to press these in. Since your here in southern California, there is a brake rebuild company up in Long Beach I've been using for years, never had a problem and they've built custom matched calipers and master cyliders for me, etc. They've used my cores before (because they were rare or date coded), so they might be able to help you out. The name of the company is Power Brake Service Co, 1701 Fashion Ave., Long Beach, Ca 90813 (562) 436-4111 or (800) 504-1060.
