"exhaust manifold queston"

Hi everyone, just wondering if I could run the stock left mainfold cat on the driver's side and a hi-flow cat on the passenger side, would this hurt the flow of the engine exhaust or just decrease the sound on the one side. Reason I'm asking this is beause I'm installing a 98 Mark engine in a 94 Thunderbird and I have hi-flow cats on the bird, or can I cut or gut the the driver's side cat out then weld a piece of pipe in place of the cat then use my hi-flow cat on that side? Thanks Steve.

I dont think cutting the left cat off of the manifold is an option.
