"Getting some new tires...requesting your $.02"

Well it seems that after driving the mark for a few months that the car is going to make it after all *knocks on wood*, so now i need to get some actual new tires for it...been driving on some used uniroyal tiger paws for a while and the tread is looking pretty low, not to mention the fun of driving it in one of florida's many rain storms; Traction is nonexistent. I'm thinking about getting a set of bridgestone re960as pole position tires. They seem like very good all around tires. phenomenal wet traction, low road noise, good cornering and the like, but i was wondering before i purchase them what the board thought about them,...personal experiences, complaints, etc.

Thanks!

I've had previous iterations of the REx series. They were my favorite street car tire of all time.

For our size, on tirerack, that's the only tire I'd choose to run.

If you're willing to go to a 225/55/16 (slightly smaller sidewall), and consider summer tires (which are typically fine in the wet, just don't deal with cold well)

Then you can get my all time favorite
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport
I drove the snot out of a prior generation (730) set of these in the 60 series when they made them.

Others I'd consider in that size/class
General Exclaim UHP - specs look good for the price
BFGoodrich g-Force Sport - know friends who have and like them

Another tire I'd consider is the Falken FK 452. I had a set on my Mark, they were ok. My friend has them on his 3 series and loves them.

That seems to be a very good tire. In the near future, I'm going to be getting me a set of BFGoodrich Advantage T/A. It seems to be the best all-around tire I could find in my budget range (taking into account all-weather traction and treadwear).

From what i've read it's very good traction wise except in deep snow and ice, but we don't see a lot of that around here.

Since you asked here are my two cents. They look real nice and if you want them go for it but... I would not spend more money for a tire that can go 168 MPH (W speed rating) unless I was going to go that fast. I would also be looking for a higher tread ware rating. I also try to whenever possible buy products made in America. Those are not. There are not alot of tires made in America any more but I know the BF Goodrich are and they're what I use. If you can use any of this fine. If not ignore it.
