"proper offset"

ive got a 98 lsc. ive been looking at 18 x 9 and 18 x 10 saleen style r and rims and tire packages. are the offsets compatable from the mustang, or dothey have to be different? ive been told with 18 x9 the offset should be 36mm. thinking of 275 40 18 rear and 245 40 18 front will this work

I'm running a set of saleen speedstars,18x9..and my offset is 36mm. Also using 245x45x18 tires..No issues at all. I think I could get wider on the tires with no worries. 275 isn't out of the question.
