"tire wheel fitment"

does anyone know if a P245/50/16" will fit on a stock 98 Mark 8 rim?? Some one has a pair of new,and I was wondering if they would look good on the rear with the stock size<225/60/16> on the front.
Thanks,
Lee

Yes, they will fit, though you might want to check the tire manufacturer's website, as it's at the very limit of the recommended wheel width for that tire size. I'm not sure what, if any, effect it may have on the ABS/TC, since you'll have a somewhat shorter tire on one end. When I changed to 245/50, I did all four at once.

No problem with the tires fitting the stock wheels. You could even go with P255/50R16's or P255/55R16's; I've done both with no problems, unless perhaps you have lowered the car a lot.

But, you really won't want to have different diameter tires on a Mark VIII, or any other car with 4 wheel ABS.

You could go with stock P225/60R16's on the front and P255/55R16's on the rear, since they are virtually the same outside diameter. However there are Very Few tires available in the P255/55R16 size.

Good Luck!

Check out tirerack. They have about 3 tires in the 235-55-16 size. Just about perfect.
