"MARK 8 SUSPENSION"

I'm considering a change over to springs and struts etc. But... I think my air ride system may have been mistakenly diagnosed by my mechanic. It holds air for what seems forever (easily a couple days and I have never seen it bleed down slowly)... But, kick down the motor an put you foot into it, either to pass etc., and the front goes completely flat in seconds... Stop...shut her off...wait a minute or so...and she fills up fine and stays up... My mechanic said he heard air leaking from on top of the left front air bag and therefore, he reasoned, the bag is leaking... All facts considered, and after reading some of (most of) everything I could find on the mark 8 suspension, this does not seem like a bag problem... My mark has just 38,000 miles on her. I know rubber ages regardless of miles, but, this sounds more like a solenoid problem or something else... second question... how much does the lowered spring conversion alter the ride??? I do love my pillow soft ride... and would rather not change over if this may be an easy fix... This is my 3rd mark 8 with never any other air ride issues... Thank you... Kryto

Start with the troubleshooting in the FAQ?

Thanks Calvin... I read all the FAQs and I will try switching off the air ride and kicking her down...(flexing the suspension strongly as this seems to be what brings about the nose dive...) Based on the guide, if the nose dives with the switch off... I've got a leak in a bag... Do you know about the spring conversions... I did get one good feedback on the ride... It sounds like the lowered kit looks great and rides fine... any thoughts or info?... thanks much... Kryton...
