"Canadian customers"
|
Hi Eddie, I've just purchased a '97 MK VIII with rear shocks that have completely leaked out and are in dire need of replacement. The car bounces as if there are no shocks at all.
I see on your website that you have a nice kit that includes your shock mounts and the option of a premium shock. I'd very much like to purchase this item, but when I go to check out, the only choice for 'country' is the USA. Do you not ship to Canada? I'm thinking you do because you have an option for 'postal code'.
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to phone the order in?
Thanks for your time, Gord in Toronto.

Thanks very much Eddie, I'll send you my info and pay online. I can't seem to find your email address though, I'll send a message through the board's message function.
Gord.
edit: oh, I see there's an email option when I look at your profile, I'll assume that's what you meant. Thanks again

Hi Eddie, the good news is that UPS attempted delivery of your parts while I was at work and should be back tomorrow.
The bad news is (not related to your business but I think anyone shipping parts from the U.S.A. to Canada should know this) UPS is charging me an additional $60.53 to deliver even though the shipping was supposed to have been fully covered at your end. I don't know why they do this, they make up an extra charge, don't tell us up front that there will be a charge or what the amount will be. Some of that cost is likely duties, but the tax here is 13%, so that'd come to about $15 total, the additional $45 seems to me to be a complete rip off/price gouge on the part of UPS. I'll see how they detail the costs once I get my receipt.
I know it's not in any way your fault Eddie and I'm not blaming you at all, it's UPS Canada. I'd have much rather paid you 50 bucks to go down to the post office to ship USPS than to give my money to UPS for charges they pulled out of a hat, lol.
Anyway, not a big deal, sorry for the rant and do realize it's not in any way directed towards you or your business, it's just the way things are when you live north of the border. I'm still looking forward to getting your package and I'll post again once I have the parts in my hands.
